Good communication is a key element of how we work and a priority for us. Ensuring the client is kept informed about the process whilst maintaining candidates’ interest. And when required, rejecting them in an open, honest and timely manner to ensure their view of the client and the process remains positive. The reputation of the client remains of the utmost importance and this must be safeguarded with both successful and unsuccessful candidates.
In terms of best practice our process is as follows:
We start each instruction with an in-depth introductory meeting to interrogate the role and profile of the candidate being looked for ensuring that we identify candidates with the right profile and long term fit with both the business and specific team
We aim to provide you with a detailed proposal promptly following the initial meeting enabling you to make a decision quickly and start the process. We aim to be totally transparent about the process and costs involved.
Upon instruction, in-depth market research will be undertaken to source the maximum number of suitable individuals. A detailed timeline for the process will also be agreed
We undergo a rigorous assessment of the candidates, firstly through a thorough telephone interview and then with a face to face interview. This detailed approach ensures their suitability and both skills and personality match the brief. Where possible references will be undertaken to ensure the calibre of the individual and their track record.
A shortlist meeting will take place with the client and an insight given about those candidates best suited to the role. We will endeavour to include a diverse range of individuals with different backgrounds. These will make up the first interviews. We are very happy to attend interviews where required. A detailed candidate report will be provided for each of those candidates being interviewed
Feedback will be obtained and the preferred candidates booked in for second round interviews. They may also be requested to give a presentation or psychometric testing and we will be happy to arrange and brief the candidates accordingly
Following second-round interviews we will assist where necessary with the decision-making process before negotiating the details of the offer of employment on the client’s behalf. This will include taking up references for the individual alongside due diligence checks and assisting them through the resignation process from their previous position. The sole objective is to provide a wholly satisfactory conclusion to the appointment process

Charlie has a proven track record in supporting commercial property businesses build first-class senior leadership teams.
Following a degree in Rural Estate Management, Charlie began his career at Cluttons where he trained as a Surveyor and worked on a number of diverse and technically challenging Estates whose commercial enterprises included residential and commercial properties, agribusiness operations as well as leisure and sporting interests.
His growing interest in commercial property then led him to Macdonald & Company where he spent nearly eighteen years delivering value to clients across the full spectrum of commercial real estate including family offices and property companies as well as developers, retailers and institutional investors.
Charlie’s insights, understanding and network across a broad range of stakeholders in the property sector are highly regarded and he has established a thriving business focussing on these core areas of experience.
